First and foremost, thanks for taking the time out of your busy days to visit this blog, you guys rock my socks! So, now that I have your undivided attention, how should we approach this one fam? Do we go super deep and come out of the gate swinging or do we just keep it short, sweet, and simple? On this go around, I’m going to stick to basics, the why and the what.

Why? Why does anyone do anything? Just teasing, let’s not get too deep just yet. I used to write blog entries back in the Collegiate Circuit (anyone remember that site?) and MySpace days. It was a good vehicle for me to share my thoughts on topics that mattered to me. A couple of my friends would regularly read my entries and provided positive feedback. I have all kinds of thoughts going through my head on a constant basis and writing them down has helped to make sense of them. Most of the time, I write for myself, but I also know that others have been able to relate to my situations/stories and I think that is wonderful. At the end of the day, we are all in this together, so if something I write resonates with someone, then I am going to do my best to keep it up.

So why now? I’m always coming up with these mini quotes I call “Oscarisms” and for the longest, I had wanted to elaborate on some of them a little further, so this blog will give me the opportunity to do so. I had put it off for such a long time and made so many excuses for not starting it sooner, but there is no time like the present and it was finally time to stop pussyfooting. And why Moments in the City? A week ago, I shared an experience I had on Facebook and titled it, “Moments in the City,” to which a friend of mine responded, “that should be the name of your blog.” And right then and there, I looked up the domain name and it was AVAILABLE! Thanks Fatima!

Everything in life is comprised of moments: some short, some long, some good, and some bad. And I just happen to live and work in the city (DTLA). So it seemed like a catchy and fitting title. And that leads us to the what.

What is this blog going to be about? Nutella and Cocaine! Just teasing again. I am one of the most random people you will ever meet, so this blog will have a little bit of everything. But wouldn’t it better if your blog was a bit more targeted and focused on a singular topic? No! You don’t tell me how to live my life! I do what I want! Jokes aside, I will cover subjects ranging from everyday experiences, food, life, love, work, music, friendships, photography, just to a name a few. I also plan on having guest bloggers to switch things up from time to time (so don’t be surprised if you get an email from me asking for you to contribute). Yup, that pretty much sums it up for now.

So without further ado, let’s do this!
